Combination changes are the most common safe service we handle. You bought a used safe and want a fresh code. An employee who knew the combination left the company. You just want a new code for security. Whatever the reason, we reset it on-site. Mechanical dial combination changes run $95-150 depending on the lock manufacturer. Electronic keypad code resets cost $95-120.

Two types of safe locks: mechanical and electronic. Mechanical dial locks use a wheel pack that aligns at specific numbers to release the bolt. These are reliable but require precise manipulation to change the combination. Electronic locks use a keypad and a motor-driven bolt retractor. Faster to open, easier to change codes, but batteries die and circuit boards fail after 8-15 years.

When the lock mechanism fails, we diagnose whether it can be repaired or needs full replacement. Common failures: worn dial rings on mechanical locks, dead batteries or failed circuit boards on electronic locks, corroded bolt work, and jammed relocker mechanisms.
